The Dance
Brighton, UK.
Painted shortly after the end of the COVID lockdowns as part of a new art trail encouraging the local community to step back outside and explore their streets again.
Working with the themes of community and kindness I created the piece in keeping with my newly emerging style, balancing both literal and abstract with interlocking forms of flat vivid colour dancing across the wall.
A homage of sorts to one of my favourite artists Matisse whose work of the same title can be seen as my starting point, but the final piece arrives somewhere quite different.
